Few authors in the history of literature have had the ability to create dialogues and give life to characters with the same elegance, irony and cunning of the British author Jane Austen. Montblanc created the Writers Edition Homage to Jane Austen to celebrate one of the most famous authors of English literature. This edition revives the era of regency, when the noble country holders were the scene of large parties organized to cultivate social relationships and tighten marriage alliances. The groove of a classic column embellishes the elegant body in sandy gray resin, together with the signature of Jane Austen. The contrasting gray-blue hood recalls the type of double-collar Regency coat typically worn by gentlemen such as mr Darcy in pride and prejudice. The gold finish rings on the body and the platinum finish details bring a touch of final style to the design. The engraving of the XLIII Roman numerals on the body of the hood refers to the chapter of the novel in which Elizabeth Bennet sees Mr Darcy's estate for the first time. The title page of his novel reason and feeling, published in 1811, limited himself to declaring that the work had been written "by a lady". This author's declaration adorns the upper part of the hood of the Writers Edition Homage to Jane Austen Limited Edition, together with the Montblanc emblem. The silhouette of the writing tool itself recalls a wax stamp. The clip is as singular as the hood. In the shape of an intertwined rope with closure to the coulisse, it recalls that of a "reticulum", a type of handbag used by women around 1800 to bring with them the powder, the mirror and the indispensable pocket handkerchief. The only known image of Jane Austen, who shows his delicate features, is immortalized as a refined engraving on the massive gold nib Au 750 Redio and handmade finish.
